All Japan Poker Championship: Key Highlights & Insights

Founded in 2009, the All Japan Poker Championship (AJPC) holds the distinction of being Japan’s oldest running poker tour. However, due to restrictions on cash prizes, to promote the game, the brand awarded tickets and packages to international poker events. Through the years, this approach proved to be a huge success that it was just a matter of time before the brand expanded beyond Japan.

Starting 2017 and nearly every year after, the AJPC has consistently visited South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, hosting up to six events. In 2022, under the AJPC umbrella, the brand created the AJPC Samural Circuit, a mid-stakes festival featuring competitive Main Event buy-ins of around US$ 1,000. This ongoing tour will see seven international events, adding the Philippines to the lineup.
