Explore the European Poker Tour: A Prestigious EPT Series
The European Poker Tour (EPT) has become one of the most successful live poker festivals in the world of poker and was first hosted all the way back in 2004, one year after Texas Hold’em gained widespread global attention. Since 2011, the brand has been fully owned by leading online poker operator PokerStars, which regularly sends hundreds of online qualifiers to their stops.
Throughout the years, the EPT has visited 22 different countries and the number of live stops each year has fluctuated. Three of the EPT event locations are actually outside of the European Union with the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure on The Bahamas taking place twelve times. In 2017, the brand name was abolished and the EPT became the PokerStars Championship (PSC) with two international stops in Panama and Macau included, but the decision was reverted after one year only.
Due to the COVID-10 pandemic, three of the four scheduled live stops were cancelled in 2020 and the competition was moved to the virtual arena instead. The EPT is widely recognized as one of the most reputable brands in live poker and constitutes one third of the Triple Crown achievement – winning a Main Event of the EPT, WPT and a WSOP gold bracelet.
