No Tax On Winnings, Low Rakes, Competitive Admin Fees

Unlike other countries in South East Asia such as Malaysia and Vietnam, no government tax is imposed on any of the winnings and the tournament fees are also rather moderate to leave more money in the prize pool. By default for almost all tournaments on the schedule, the rake ranges between 10% and 12.5%, while for the High Roller events with a $3K and higher buy in, the rake reduces to between 3% to 8.33%, including 5.7% for the best structured $3,500 Main Tour Championship.

The two marquee events furthermore boast the deepest structures of all major live poker tournaments in the region to give all participants their money’s worth. In the Prime Championship, all players receive 40,000 in chips and the levels on each Day 1 last 40 minutes each with the field playing down to the money – 1 out of 8 entries in each flight will cash. As of Day 2, the level duration increases to 60 minutes each until a winner is crowned.

In the $3,500 WPT Championship Event, the starting stack is even bigger with 50,000 in chips and the levels on each Day 1 last 60 minutes each. From Day 2 onwards, the levels then increase to 90 minutes each until the heads-up stage or when a deal is made, in which case the duration is halved to 45 minutes. This is considered one of the best live tournament structures besides the WSOP and EPT Main Event.

Additionally, another four tournaments include a transferable $1,100 WPT Prime Championship entry for the winner, which is taken out of the respective prize pool. This includes the $1,100 Mini Championship, the $600 Championship Warm-Up, the $800 Mystery Bounty Event and $1,000 8-Max Survivor.
