Inaugural APPT Championship Amasses PHP 59.9M Prize Pool; Livestream

PokerStars LIVE APPT Manila Championship has already created milestones in its very first undertaking taking place at Okada Manila in Manila, Philippines. After two starting days and one hour into Day 2, its marquee event APPT Championship, with an advertised prize pool of PHP 55M, breached its guarantee for a new prize pool of PHP 59,922,720 equivalent to ~US$ 1,028,270.

The APPT Championship ran two starting days on October 23-24 drawing 359 entries combined, and with registration still open during the first level of Day 2 (October 25), it added another 57 entries to bring the total number of entries to 416.

With the announcement of the official payouts, the top 63 will earn a piece of the seven figure USD prize pool. The min-cash is PHP 250,000 (~US$ 4,280) while the eventual champion will pocket a whopping PHP 11,610,000 (~US$ 199,100), one of the biggest top purses in this country’s poker history.

Among those that entered in Day 2 were APPT National runner-up Jonathan Chetty of South Africa, Grosvenor UKPT Main Event champion Brett Kennedy of Canada, Vietnam’s Multi-titled Ngoc Pham Bao and Korean-American international campaigner Kim Wooseok.
