Lester Edoc has done it again! Ten days after winning the Asia Poker League Road Series Main Event in Pampanga, Philippines, Edoc was back on the winner’s stage after taking down the PokerStars Live Manila Super Series Main Event late last night. Edoc was awarded the Php1,377,500 (US$26,400) winner’s purse and the coveted PokerStars Players Championship Platinum Pass worth US$30,000.

Now on its sixth edition, the recently concluded Manila Super Series had the largest Main Event turnout with 1,118 entries. Maybe it was the added value of the Platinum Pass that had players scrambling for a seat. And who wouldn’t? The chance at winning a trip to the Bahamas in 2019 and compete in the biggest exclusive PokerStars event for just a lowly Php10,000 (US$200) was something no poker player could in their right minds pass up. The prize pool as well was something to ogle at, from a 3M guarantee to a massive Php9,543,248 (US$183,000).

After three starting days and 9 hours into Day 2, the final table was reached with a few local pros in the mix, Richard Marquez, Edwin Marzan, and of course the eventual champion, Lester Edoc. Another strong contender was local player Rodrigo Sequite Jr who entered Day 2 in command.

Sequite would prove himself to be a tough contender, maneuvering his way to the heads up round to face the mighty Edoc. In the end, the pro had all the winning moves and disposed of Sequite at the 12th hour of the match.

With this victory, Edoc becomes the second player from the Philippines to win the PSPC Platinum Pass. He will join fellow pro Mike Takayama at the Bahamas next year. This is truly a fine representation for the Philippines with two of its high ranking pros earning that honor.

Additionally, Edoc pumps in another five figure payout to his live tournament earnings and another major title to his long list of achievements. This year alone, he has captured two major titles bringing his total to 3 (not including the Metro Card Club wins and 2014 RVS Cup) and has already accrued over US$58,000. All this and we are just into the 3rd month of the year. Edoc surpassed both Neil Arce and Andrew Gaw in the Philippines All Time Money List and now sits in 5th rank with well over US$410K in earnings.
