The Red Dragon Poker Tour festivities at Landing Casino, Jeju Shinhwa World, South Korea has been teeming with excitement each day, with at least six tournaments running daily. Day five of the series saw another five runners – Shiina Okamoto, Tsung Yen Wan, Li Zhang, Zhichen Yu, and Meng Guo, rise as champions over at the side events. With a 38 trophy event lineup, players looking to clinch victories still have five days to go as the series continues through August 4th.

Newly minted WSOP bracelet winner Shiina Okamoto landed the victory at the two day Jeju Dragon Quest after outlasting the 313 entry field. Okamoto defeated Zhang Dianlei in heads up battle and successfully banked the lion’s share of the KRW 409,874,000 (~USD 296,050) prize pool. The Japanese runner entered the final day as the chip leader and carried this advantage all the way to the end to eventually seal the win. Okamoto adds another KRW 89,344,000 (~USD 64,530) to her career winnings, bumping up her total to a smashing USD 550,605.

The first Flip Out event on schedule drew in 280 entries, more than half which were re-buys in an attempt to qualify for the Final Day. 40 runners headed back to the felt on July 30th and banked a share of the KRW 71,064,000 (~USD 51,330) prize pool. However, it was Tsung Yen Wan who picked up the largest payout, taking with him KRW 16,232,000 (~USD 11,720) in prizes along with Taiwan’s first trophy of the season.

An astonishing run, China’s Meng Guo is so far, the sole multi-series winner throughout the festival, having bagged three trophy wins just as the series reached its halfway mark. Guo took down Event #6: Limit 2-7 Triple Draw for KRW 6,588,000 (~USD 4,750), and Event #12: Win the Button Hyper Turbo for KRW 8,270,000 (~USD 5,970) the following day. Guo’s series now boasts KRW 22,745,000 (~USD 16,420) in total, but is yet to capture the limited RDPT Winner’s Jacket up for grabs.
