Triton High Roller Series concludes with Timothy Adams winning the Main Event
The Triton High Roller Series 2019 in Jeju, South Korea has concluded. Over six scheduled events, 369 high rollers from across the globe battled for a total of HK$275.619 million (US$35.10 million) in prize money.
Adams wins the title
48 entries formed a HK$90,204,000 prize pool in the HK$2 million buy-in Main Event. The final table action was fast and furious with Ike Haxton and David Peters being eliminated in the first two hands and after only three hours of play they were heads-up.
The Canadian Timothy Adams was the chip leader going into the final table, but it was Bryn Kenney who delivered the aggression. During heads-up play the latter found himself at the receiving end of a couple of coolers and in the end got his chips in bad in the final hand, calling all-in with ace high against Adams’ flush.
Adams said about the tournament, “It feels really good. I’m really tired right now, three really gruelling days of poker. The field was really tough. The best players in the world were in the field”, he continued, “To win, it feels amazing. I obviously had to run very, very good, as I think most people have to to win a poker tournament. I’m thrilled that it’s me.”
Bryn Kenney and Timothy Adams had negotiated a head-up deal securing both players their biggest results as of yet. Kenney is taking home HK$24 million (US$3.06 million) and Adams a shiny trophy and HK$27.76 million (US$3.54 million).

Koon does it again
Triton ambassador Jason Koon final-tabled four of the six events he played at the Triton High Roller Series 2019 and he ended up winning two of those.
Always humble, Koon commented, “It doesn’t happen very often. I’ve run extremely, extremely well, but that’s what has to happen. Some weeks you run good, this week I ran fire hot.”
The HK$1 million Refresher tournament was originally scheduled to be a 2-day affaire, but organizers and players decided to play through, making this a HK$7.64 million (US$973,000) payday for Koon in the early morning hours.
However, Koon’s payout ended up being less than second place finisher Stephen Chidwick’s as they had made a chip chop deal heads-up, securing Chidwick the bigger piece with HK$8.859 (US$1.13 million).
