Videos of the Week: Jungleman Wins First Gold Bracelet, Doyle Brunson in the WSOP Main Event, Durrrr Vs. Gman Hand Analyzed, The Best Hero Calls EVER & More!
In this article, we deliver you a couple of selected poker videos of the past week.
Jungleman Catches His First Bracelet
Daniel “Jungleman” Cates is one of the most famous poker players out there. However, he built his fame and fortune at the nosebleed stakes cash tables of the now defunct poker site Full Tilt. Thus, his first WSOP gold bracelet has avoided him – until now. He, sporting a fiery Goku costume, took down the $50,000 Poker Players Championship event. This is the most prestigious mixed game tournament every year. PokerGO was generous enough to release a 23-minute highlight reel of the final table play. There, Cates battled Eli Elezra, Christopher Brewer, and Paul Volpe, before beating Ryan Leng heads-up for the title as well as the $954,020 first prize.
Doyle Brunson Hops in the Main Event
Here’s another video from the PokerGO YouTube channel – featuring another poker legend. In 2018, Doyle Brunson received a standing ovation after being knocked out in 6th place in the $10K No Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw event at the WSOP. Back then, everybody thought it was the Texas Dolly’s last ride – after all, he was 84 at the time… However, at age 88, he’s back, playing his first Main Event since 2013! Find out how he did by watching this video below.
Jonathan Little Analyzes Durrrr Vs. Gman Pot
Adelstein’s Broadway straight. Was Durrrr’s check on the river GTO? Should Adelstein have paid him off? Find out below.
The Greatest Hero Calls by PokerStars
A hero call, as many of you probably know, is a call with a very weak hand on the river. It’s risky for a poker player’s reputation: it makes you look like a genius if it’s correct, and makes you look like a fool if it’s not. PokerStars put together a compilation of the times when did go right for the caller. It starts with Jason Mercier catching a bluff with bottom pair at the 2008 EPT Sanremo Main Event final table; and ends with Steve O’Dwyer calling down with Ace high heads-up at the 2015 PCA High Roller. There’s plenty of interesting hands in between too, enjoy!
Brad Owen Makes Quad Aces
We haven’t heard from poker vlogger superstar Brad Owen in this article series for a while. He’s currently back in Las Vegas, still raking in the huge pots and the huge views as well. In this episode, he plays a session of $5/$10 No Limit Hold’em cash game at the Bellagio. It was a lucky one for him, as he makes a full house over trips in his first hand, then goes on to make trip Aces, then even Quad Aces in the game. With a rungood like this, it’s no wonder that Owen managed to book a nice, $2K win at the end.
