In this article, we deliver you a couple of selected poker videos of the past week.

Chris Moneymaker in the WSOP Main Event

The last person to defend their Main Event title was Johnny Chan in 1988. The last person to win the Main Event as a former champion was Stu Ungar back in 1997. Now, another legend of the game, the man who brought about the poker boom of the early 2000’s, seemed to have a shot to do just that. 2003 WSOP Main Event winner Chris Moneymaker had a deep run with some really lucky all-in pots for him in this year’s Main. His journey ended on Day 5 by busting in 260th place for $38,600 out of 6,650 players. Below, you can watch PokerGO’s highlights of his play in the tournament. Moneymaker actually cashed in the last live WSOP MEas well, back in July 2019.

Quads Over Quads in the Main

These days, all eyes in the poker world are on the ongoing WSOP Main Event. We’re currently on Day 6 of the affair, and there have been many memorable hands already. This is certainly one of them. In a twist that was common in the earliest mentions of poker in fiction, but not so much in real life, a player’s four of a kind was beaten by an even better four of a kind. To the dismay of poor JJ Liu, his Quad 4’s ran into Ugur Secilmis’s Quad 6’s. Needless to say, the tournament ended for smaller stack Liu in that hand.

The Sickest Hero Folds by PokerStars

Let’s take a quick break from the World Series to watch a nice compilation by the PokerStars YouTube channel. This time, they decided to go for an aspect of poker that is rarely glorified: big folds. After all, the folder automatically loses the pot. However, with an astute fold, they can save themselves huge sums of money that can greatly contribute to their win rate later. This video features such famous poker players as Michael Mizrachi, Isaac Haxton, and Maria Ho; as well as a folded second nut straight against the nut straight in a heads-up pot.

Daniel Negreanu Vlogs His Short Main Event

6-time WSOP gold bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu also jumped in the Main Event, and brought his vlog cam with him, as he’s been doing it every year since 2017. However, this was a short one for old DNegs. His pocket Kings ran into pocket Aces on Day 1, so he was out in two and a half hours. He blew off some of his frustration by firing away bullets in the $1,111 Little One for One Drop event, so you are going to see some unusual all-in hands with cards like J7 suited, 84 suited, and his signature 10-7 off-suit.
