The defining hand was when he won a big pot against Jeorge Lagatuz who four-bet shoved in an attempt to push out Hinds only for his bluff to be exposed and Hinds’ soaring with pocket Kings turned set. This hand drastically changed the course of the game as Hinds continued to cruise through all the way to the heads-up battle, facing Vietnamese shark Bien Mai.

Despite his 72 bb to 33 bb chip advantage, Hinds had difficulty grinding down Bien, instead, it was the reverse. Bien dominated heads up, raking in pot after pot to switch ranks. “I always try to figure out who’s likely to fold and assess the size of their stack,” Hinds explained. “I think what gives me the edge is that people perceive me as aggressive, and I use that to my advantage.”
