Tao Wei Chang - SOMUCHPOKER

Taiwanese player Tao Wei Chang aka David Chang kicked off his poker career in Taiwan in 2018. While his first official tournament was the WPT National China in 2014, Chang gave veterans a run for their money when he placed second in the NT$ 8,000 + 800 Pot Limit Omaha event at J88Poker Tour Taiwan four years later, earning a healthy payout of NTD 115,300 (USD 3,737).

After a brief hiatus from live tournaments, Chang made a triumphant return in 2023. His absence from the live poker scene only served to heighten the anticipation, and he did not disappoint. Chang secured the seventh position in the WPT Prime Main Event at WPT Taiwan, walking away with a substantial prize pot of NTD 1,034,000 (USD 32,387).

Chang became a regular at ASPT Taiwan, floating within the top ten and placing first multiple times. His most significant victory was at USOP Taiwan 2024, where he placed first in the High-Roller Finale, pocketing a career-high of NTD 2,748,200 (USD 88,435).

Two months later, Chang’s second-largest win came during USOP Da Nang Part 1, where he cashed out at an impressive eleven events, earning a total of VND 2,617,500,000 (USD 104,700). During his deep Da Nang run, he scored the biggest in the High-Roller Megastack (2.1 Billion GTD) event, cashing in VND 1,769,500,000 (USD 71,482). This earned him the top spot and the win in the inaugural USOP Player of the Series leaderboard.

Since winning the USOP Player of the Series Ring, Chang quickly became a contender for USOP Player of the Year. He has a total of USD 312,800 in live earnings.
