Red Dragon Championship

Today's Red Dragon Championship Day 1C games attracted the largest turnout across the four heats, having recorded a total of 214 entries over nine levels of registration. Only less than a quarter of the field (47 players) remained in battle following the eleven hour grind, with China's Song Wang topping the list. Wang rose to the top spot by dinner break and steadily chipped up to end the action with a final chip count of 588,000 right on the feature table. Queen of Poker Celina Lin trails closely behind with 513,000, followed by CTP's David Tai with 501,000, to round up the top three spots. Day 1A chip leader Yong Li continues to reign over the Day 2 charge, bringing a massive 645,000 stack onto the next stage.

The final flight, Day 1D is yet to complete with the clock still running at Level 10 for four more levels. All survivors are geared to return tomorrow, November 29th, 12 noon for Day 2, where the money is expected to trickle in.

Vying for 100,000 in the middle across board A♦ 3♣ 7♥ 6♠ 2♦ , river action saw David Tai lead out a 75,000 bet. Xiaoyun Li put the call, only to muck after Tai revealed a set 6♦ 6♥ .

A preflop back and forth saw Hui Wang push all-in for 208,000, called by Ngoc Ha Nguyen on the big blind. Tabling the same hand, Wang was up for a one card flush right on the turn 5♠ 7♠ 9♥ 8♠ for a massive boost, but split the pot two ways as the river A♥ bricked out.

A four way raised pot led by Jiayu Ruan dealt flop 3♥ 7♣ 4♠ . Ruan continued for 25,000 and picked up the pot uncontested.

Facing a late position open and a 25,000 three bet from Man Yip, Rong Xia on the small blind, lodged a cold four bet to 75,000, leaving only 27,000 behind. Both opponents threw in the fold, shipping Xia the boost.

With a 54,000 pot centered around flop 9♦ 7♥ 9♠ , Zijian Zhao had already put 50,000 in yet was deep in the tank after Ye Li behind, moved all-in for 33,000 more. Zhao eventually found a fold with T♥ T♣ and stood happy with his decision as Li revealed K♠ K♣ .

Jianting Cai opened to 8,000 from middle position and faced a 27,000 three bet from Hui Wang. Cai clapped back with another to 58,000, and shipped the boost shortly after Wang laid it down.

Up against an open and a call, Wei Xie went with J♥ 8♥ for his last 21,000 and was challenged by initial raiser Ngoc Ha Nguyen with A♣ 4♠ . Attempting to hang on, Xie failed to do so, having completely missed to connect with board Q♦ 2♦ Q♠ 2♠ T♠ .

Renjun Yang pushed his last 39,000 in and was called by Xiaobin Zhou on the big blind. Dominated, Yang headed out shortly, having failed to catch up on board 3♣ J♠ 9♦ 3♥ J♥ .

Facing an open and a call, Ryutaro Oizumi shoved 81,000 in on the small blind, and was challenged by initial raiser Cheng Ping.

Board Q♠ 5♥ J♣ 6♠ 6♦ delivered no bad beats, earning Oizumi another crucial pot.

Cheng Chen opened to 8,000, raised by Mingwei Li on the button to 23,000. Ryutaro Oizumi flicked in his last 25,000 and was called by both opponents. On flop K♠ 4♦ 4♠ , Chen led all-in for 102,000 for a side pot, successfully pushing Li out of the action.

Cheng gunning for a ton of outs saw none come on either turn 6♦ or river A♦ , leaving Oizumi's pocket pair holding up for the win.

With a 95,000 pot in the middle across board 8♣ 4♣ 3♦ 6♥ , Celina Lin on the big blind, fired a bet of 36,000, check called by Yu Hsi Lin. On river K♣ , Yu led all-in for 69,500, and left Lin unable to get to showdown.

Jinquan Wang sent out a 23,000 three bet against Ryutaro Oizumi's hijack open, and saw the latter complete, revealing flop 3♣ J♥ J♣ . Wang led all-in and Oizumi wasted no time in throwing his hand in the muck.

Xiaqing Ji opened to 6,000 utg and called 12,500 more following a raise from Wei Hong behind. On flop 3♥ J♦ 3♣ , Ji was quick to give it up after being faced with another 18,000 bet.

Zuyou Wang opened to 6,000 utg+1, joined by both players on the blinds onto flop K♦ 8♠ 5♣ . Wang continued for 6,000, and fired another 14,000 on turn K♥ , with Xixiang Luo on the big blind, check calling both streets. River 9♣ ushered no more bets, revealing Luo's A♦ 8♣ good for the pot.

Vying for 25,500 in the middle on flop 3♦ 2♥ A♠ , Guodi Yu sent out an 8,000 bet on the button, check called by initial raiser Jiang Ming. On turn 6♣ , Ming took the lead for 28,000, and shipped the pot as Yu folded.

Park Yu Cheung open shoved his last 36,500 and was called by Young Wook Lee on the big blind. In for a race, Lee instantly landed the advantage on board 6♥ K♠ J♣ 7♠ 8♣ , sending his opponent to the rails with top pair.

William Li committed his last 32,500 with 9♠ 9♣ and was looked up by Jieming Xu with A♠ T♠ for a flip. At risk, Li instantly spiked a set on flop 9♦ 2♠ T♣ , further improving to a full house as runout 4♣ T♥ completed the board.

Yanfeng Wang opened to 5,000 utg, called by a player behind. Big blind Yu Hsi Lin put in a raise to 20,000, and went on to call off for her remaining 36,500 after Wang moved all-in.

A huge favorite, Lin cruised to victory on board 5♣ K♥ T♠ 2♥ 7♠ , earning her a boost back 48 BBs.

Qing Zhao fired a 15,000 three bet on the button against Park Yu Cheung's open and saw the latter complete. On board 3♣ 6♥ Q♣ T♣ 8♠ , Zhao barreled all three streets - 10,000, 14,000, and a final all-in, with Cheung check calling two bets. Cheung tanked by the river and decided to let it go.

Jun Li opened on the button and was met with a 15,000 three bet from Sung Do Kwok on the small blind. Li answered with an all-in for 79,000 total and remained unchallenged.

An all-in preflop situation ensued at Table #33 with Zhiyi Wang at risk for his last 47,500 against Xiao Liu. Board 6♣ 9♦ 5♣ 4♠ 4♦ ran safe for Wang, earning him a nice boost to 50 BB.

Another preflop back and forth saw both Di Wu and Young Wook Lee land their stacks in the middle, Lee being at risk for his entire 120,000. Board 2♣ 8♥ 2♠ Q♠ 7♦ ran dry, leaving Lee's nutted pair good for the full double up.

Aghayev Farhad opened 4,000 utg and called 6,000 more following a raise from Celina Lin behind. On board 7♣ Q♦ 4♥ T♥ , Lin double barreled 8,000 and 16,000. Farhad called one street yet gave it up after Lin showed no signs of slowing down.

A preflop back and forth saw Erdun Xu call off his 44,500 stack against a four bet from Celina Lin. In greaet shape, Xu instead bowed out after board 4♥ 8♠ T♠ 7♦ 2♠ landed Lin top pair to deliver the bust.

Xixiang Luo opened 4,500 on the button and was met with an 11,500 three bet from Gang Lu on the small blind. Luo answered with another raise to 22,500, convincing Lu to surrender.

Red Dragon Championship Day 1C players have been sent off for a one hour dinner break, with action set to resume at 7:30 pm. Registration will also close following the break, with Day 1D remaining open for late entrants. China's Song Wang currently leads the charge, stacking over three times the average stack.

Top Chip Counts

Haichao Zou opened 3,500 on the hijack, followed by a three bet behind. Zuyou Wang on the button, sent out a minraise to 14,200, and snap called after Zou pushed his entire 43,500 stack in.

A cooler situation, no bad beats were delivered on board 9♥ 6♣ J♦ T♦ 3♠ , sending Zou towards the exit.

Facing a utg open and a three bet right after, Ryutaro Oizumi shoved all-in on the big blind, covering both opponents. Both threw in the fold, shipping Oizumi the pot uncontested.

Valeriy Pak opened to 3,000 utg, and called 7,000 more following a raise from Jinwoo Kim behind. On flop A♠ 6♦ 9♦ , Pak check called another 4,500, peeling turn 7♣ . Both checked it through to river 5♥ , where Pak led 13,000. Kim gave it up, slipping his hand in the muck.

A three way raised pot saw initial raiser Yunlong Jin continue for 7,000 on flop K♣ Q♠ J♣ . Yu Hsi Lin check called on the small blind, and put out another 11,000 on turn 2♣ . Both checked down river 7♥ , revealing Yu's J♠ T♥ , no good agianst Jin's pair of queens A♥ Q♥ .

Seina Ishigo committed her last 12,400 with 6♦ 6♣ and was challenged by Ruibin Li with A♦ J♣ . In for a flip, Li instantly smashed board A♥ J♥ 5♥ 2♣ 9♠ , sending Ishigo towards the rails not long after.

Jian Gong opened to 2,500 on the cutoff, followed by a raise to 7,000 from Ye Li a seat after. Jin Xudong on the big blind, put in the call along with Gong, revealing flop A♥ 2♣ K♦ . Action checked round to turn 5♠ , where Jin led 8,500. Both opponents were left unable to continue, shipping the win over to Jin.

Zuyou Wang limped on the hijack, and called off a 23,600 all-in from Xinhong Li behind. Flop T♥ 6♠ 7♠ paired up both players, with turn 2♥ seeing a flush draw for both. River 8♣ however, bricked for Li, shipping Wang the pot with top pair.

Vying for 6,800 in the middle on flop K♦ A♣ 6♥ , Shinya Maeda on the big blind, fired a check raise to 7,700, and saw initial raiser Wenqi Zheng make the call. On turn Q♥ , Maeda surrendered after Zheng pushed all-in for 23,500.

With a hefty 65,000 pot across board 2♥ 8♥ 3♠ T♠ 2♣ , Li Jiang Lin on the button, made an attempt for 43,000. Zehao Li right behind, found the call with 9♥ 9♦ , and raked in the 125 BB pot after Li tabled bluff A♣ 7♠ .

A three way raised pot dealt flop 9♣ 7♠ 9♠ . Action checked to Zhao Gang, who bet 4,500, check called by Chunnuan Xu on the big blind. On turn T♣ , Xu check called another 5,000, and arrived at showdown after no more bets went in on river 7♦ . Xu revealed 7♣ 8♠ and shipped the pot with two pair.

Facing a late position open and a button three bet from Kwai Ying, Jiang Pu on the small blind, sent out another raise to 15,800. Ying completed, and went on to call another 7,500 on flop 6♠ 4♠ K♥ . On turn 5♦ , Pu led all-in for 32,600 and arrived at showdown just as Ying paid the price.

Drawing to two outs, Ying booked the loss shortly after river 8♦ completed the board, doubling Pu in the process.

Yuxiang Cong opened utg and called off Di Lu's 13,000 jam right behind. An ace high battle, Cong's better kicker ran in play across board A♥ 3♣ 4♦ 4♣ 6♦ to deliver the bust.

Jianting Cai opened to 2,000 utg and called 3,400 more following a raise from Xiaobo Zhou right behind. Action on flop 8♥ J♣ 5♣ was checked round to turn 2♥ , where Cai led 3,500. Zhou made the call and paid another 4,000 on river 5♠ , only to muck as Cai flipped over T♠ T♥ for the pot.

Li Ta Hsu opened on the cutoff, called behind by Dmitrii Gnusaev. Jie Xia on the big blind, fired a three bet to 9,000, and was called by the initial raiser. Gnusaev put in a tower of 5,000 chips, enough to cover both opponents' stacks. Xia called off for his last 32,600 and was in for a flip for his tournament life.

Board 6♠ T♠ 3♦ J♠ 7♦ steered clear of Xia's overcards, sending him out of the Day 1C running.

David Tai opened 2,000 on the button, and saw both players on the blinds - Ryutaro Oizumi and Sinuo Xiao come along on flop A♣ 3♣ 9♠ . Tai continued for 2,000, check called by both onto turn 4♥ . Tai proceeded with another bet of 8,000, and shipped the pot following two folds behind.

With 18,800 in the middle on flop 7♦ 8♠ 6♠ , action checked to Ye Li, who bet 8,000. Small blind put in the call, followed by an all-in for 52,200 total from Jiang Pu right behind. Both opponents threw in the fold, shipping Pu a boost just before the break.

A fourway raised pot led by Ning Zhang dealt flop 2♣ 7♠ 3♠ . Zhang bet 3,500 and saw only Kwai Ying behind, continue to turn 6♣ . Zhang fired another 8,600, and Ying once again stuck around to see river 3♥ . Zhang remained aggressive with a final bet of 32,300, sending Ying deep in the tank. Ying eventually found the call with 8♣ 7♣ three seconds left on the clock, and shipped the pot as Zhang revealed bluff A♥ 8♦ .

Dong Li opened to 1,800 on the hijack, called by Yongqiang Xia a seat after. On flop J♦ 7♠ 4♠ , Xia called a 2,500 cbet from Li and arrived at turn 4♦ . Li check called 4,500, yet surrendered after Xia demanded a final 15,000 on river T♥ .

Gao Lei opened to 1,800 utg, joined by Mitsuki Saito on flop 2♣ K♥ 6♥ . Gao continued for 3,800, called by Saito onto turn 2♥ . Gao fired another 6,000, and was this time met with a raise to 12,000 from his opponent. Gao clicked back to 26,000, and shipped the pot after Saito gave up the fight.

Mingwei Li opened to 1,300 on the cutoff and called 3,000 more following a raise from Mo Mo Yin on the small blind. On flop 7♥ T♦ T♥ , Li bet 6,000, check raised by Yin to 18,000. Li tank shoved the rest of his 49,200 stack, and picked up the pot after his opponent snap folded.

Vying for 28,200 in the middle across board 4♠ T♠ 8♦ 2♦ , action was caught on Qingwei Zhou firing a bet of 8,000. Man Yip check called, and went on to lead all-in on river 6♣ . Zhou gave it up shortly after, opting to save his 32 BB behind.

Yanfeng Wang opened 1,300 on the hijack and called a 3,500 three bet from Zheng Cai right behind. On flop J♣ 6♥ 5♠ , Wang check called another 2,200, revealing turn Q♠ . Both checked it through to river 6♣ . Wang checked once more, prompting Zheng to bet all-in. Wang tanked and eventually called off for his 17,600 stack. Zheng showed 8♠ 8♣ , good against Wang's 3♦ 3♠ for the bust.

Nengyue Chen defended his open and called a 3,300 three bet from Zeyu Sun on the button. Sun continued for 2,500 on flop 9♦ K♦ 6♥ , check called by his opponent. Both turn T♣ and river A♠ welcomed no more bets, revealing Chen's set T♦ T♥ for the pot.

Jiang Pu opened 1,200 utg and was met with a 3,800 three bet from Kyungmin Lee on the button. Pu clapped back with a hefty 14,800, enough to convince Lee to let it go.

Hui Wang fired a 13,000 river bet into a 14,300 pot across board T♠ K♥ 2♥ 2♦ 5♥ after action was checked to him. Dongying Ling went deep in the tank and eventually made the call, only to muck as Wang revealed boat K♠ 2♠ .

Dong Li fired a 5,300 three bet from the small blind against a button open, and saw Yi Ping Feng behind move all-in for 27,200 total. Li took the challenge, risking a similar stack with A♦ Q♠ . Feng is ahead with A♣ K♥ , but shot down as board Q♥ 7♦ 8♥ K♣ Q♦ ran trip queens for his opponent.

Xiao Liu opened to 1,200 utg and was met with a 3,500 three bet from William Li behind. Liu answered with a fourbet to 9,200, called by Li. On board 9♥ A♣ 4♠ 2♥ K♥ , Liu set up a trap and check called all three streets - 4,500, 12,000 and a final all-in for 31,000 from Li. Liu revealed top set A♦ A♠ , crushing Li's T♦ T♣ entirely.

Lirui Zhang sent out a 2,800 three bet on the button against a late position call, and faced a fourbet from Yuxiang Cong on the big blind. Initial raiser opted out, and Zhang completed, revealing flop T♠ A♥ 3♦ . Cong bet 5,700, and went on to check raise all-in on turn 2♦ after Zhang made it 13,500 to go. Zhang surrendered, earning Cong the boost to crack 100K.

Action was caught on Wenhai Li on the big blind, firing a nearly pot sized bet of 10,000 on board 4♣ 9♥ 8♦ T♥ . Xiang Zheng behind moved all-in for 20,200 more, leaving Li to tank fold. Zheng showed Q♥ Q♠ as he raked in the boost.

Jinwoo Kim launched a hefty bet of 21,000 into a pot of 28,200 across board J♠ A♣ 5♣ 6♠ 4♥ and saw Mitsuki Saito behind, shove all-in for 14,200 more. Kim went in the tank, and eventually gave it up, saving his remaining 40 BB.

With a pot of 20,700 centered across board Q♠ 7♦ 3♣ 4♠ 2♣ , Valeriy Pak led out a 17,000 bet on the big blind, and was looked up by utg raiser Dajie Zhuo. Pak revealed two pair 7♣ 4♥ and earned the pot as Zhuo slipped his hand in the muck.

Facing an early open and a three bet, Ning Zhang on the small blind, lodged a cold four bet to 8,100. All opponents threw in the fold, allowing Zhang to pick up the pot uncontested.

With a pot of 7,500 centered across board 2♠ 8♣ T♠ 6♦ , initial raiser Yan Zhao led 3,500 and was called behind by Xixiang Luo. Zhao barreled a final 6,500 on river Q♣ , leaving Luo unable to get to showdown.

Vying for 11,000 in the middle across board K♥ 5♦ 6♣ J♠ , Dajie Zhuo on the button, fired 3,000. Initial raiser Gao Lei check called, and went on to lead 6,500 on river K♦ . Zhuo raised it up to 20,000, and picked up the pot shortly after Lei threw in the fold.

Jin Wang opened to 1,300 on the button and called a 3,500 three bet from Celina Lin on the small blind. Lin continued for 2,200 on flop Q♦ Q♥ A♦ , and gunned for another 3,600 on turn 9♠ . Wang called the initial cbet yet open folded K♠ K♣ after Lin proceeded with aggression. Lin returned the favor, showing A♠ .

Wenbin Xu defended his utg open and called a 1,600 three bet from Zheng Cai behind, and went on to check call another 1,700 on flop 9♥ Q♥ 5♥ . Both checked turn 2♣ through to river J♦ , where Xu led 2,300. Zheng made the call yet mucked as Xu tabled top pair A♠ Q♣ .

Xiao Sinuo fired a 1,200 three bet on the button against a late position and a call, and saw both complete to see flop 4♣ 4♦ 7♦ . Action checked to Xiao, who bet 1,200, called by initial raiser Xiang Zheng. Turn 3♣ went check check, revealing river Q♠ . Xiao gunned for a final 5,500, and revealed 7♣ 5♥ for the win after Zheng paid the price.

Wenbin Xu opened to 600 on the small blind and was met with a 2,000 three bet from Yanfeng Wang behind. Xu answered with another raise to 9,000, called by Wang. Action on board 6♣ 7♣ J♣ 8♥ Q♠ was checked to down to river, where Xu led a hefty 20,000. Wang tank folded, shipping the boost to his opponent.

The two final flights for the Red Dragon Championship stand front and center of today's lineup with Day 1C kicking off at noon followed by a faster-paced Day 1D later in the evening. Yesterday's games drew in a combined 288 entries, seeing only 69 runners advance onto Day 2. Yong Li set the bar high, having topped Day 1A with 645,000 (129 BB). Those with short stacks are welcome to try and increase their chances of running deep by building up a larger pile across today's festivities.

All Day 1's are set to play through the first fourteen levels, with Day 1C registration remaining open through Level 9 @19:30.
