Ko Chia Hsiang Runner-Runners A Straight
TMT Championship 2024 Flight B Mini Main (NT$ 3M GTD) (Event #6)
Ko Chia Hsiang shoved his remaining 67,000 chips all-in from under the gun and was called by Zong Chi He at the small blind for a showdown.
Zong Chi He flopped a set to move Ko Chia Hsiang towards elimination as the Bubble Boy. However, the poker gods were just setting it up for drama by throwing a turn and a river to give Ko Chia Hsiang a one-card runner-runner straight to save him from elimination while depleting the stack of Zong Chi He.

Lee Chien Te's nines held all throughout despite the slight scare of a possible gut-shot straight on the river. Chen Po Yung busts out as the "soft bubble" with one more out to go before the bubble finally bursts.

Seong Jin Han Builds A Bigger Stack
TMT Championship 2024 Flight B Mini Main (NT$ 3M GTD) (Event #6)
Seong Jin Han raised the minimum 30,000 for UTG +1 and was re-raised to 90,000 by Chen Po Yun at the cut-off. When action was folded back to Seong Jin Han, he took a pause and declared all-in for 188,000 chips. Chen Po Yun did some chips math and made the call.
The flop made the outcome bleak for Chen Po Yun, but the king on the turn gave a slim sign of hope. However, the river denied any favor for Chen Po Yun, awarding the huge pot to Seong Jin Han.

Jing Chen Peng bet 45,000 and was re-raised to 120,000 by Zong Chi He. Jing Chen Peng re-raised all-in for 335,000, covering the stack of Zong Chi He. Quick Question? With Shiina Okamoto
Our SMP Field reporter had a chance to ask a Quick Question? to Japanese poker pro Shiina Okamoto, who was just recently crowned as the champion of the TMT Championship 2024 Single Day HighRoller (Event #H2) here at the Asia Poker Area in Taipei.
How do you feel about winning the event?
I'm very happy because my start was not good all the time. In the beginning of heads up I only have 10 bb so I'm surprised to win.
How did you come back?
I had a lot of time to observe him for more than 3 hrs with 3 people playing so I know he doesn't fold much and he bluff many times, so I exploit his type of play.
What do you like about Taiwan?
Taiwan is very good for food and I like Taiwanese people because they are very friendly with Japanese people.
What will you do with the money?
I will use my prize to play many tournaments.
Thank you To Yuki Shimosaka And Friends For Bursting The Bubble
TMT Championship 2024 Flight A Mini Main (NT$ 3M GTD) (Event #6)
The bubble has officially burst at the TMT Championship 2024 Flight A Mini Main (NT$ 3M GTD)!
The thing with tournament poker is that you sit around on the same table with the same people for hours upon hours. You have conversations with some or even have a meal together during dinner break. But then, poker is an elimination game with the goal of getting everyone's chips to win it all.
The "Bubble Boy" (who refused to give his name) had one big blind left and pushed his remaining 13,000 in the middle and was called by four players. Even before the flop was dealt, everyone agreed.- ALL CHECK ALL THE WAY.
It was like Survivor - "The tribe has spoken" and all of a sudden it's business and not personal, although it feels personal. Insert smiley emoji.
The "Bubble Boy" showed A♣ 2♠ and had to compete in a showdown with four other hands:
A♥ T♦
Q♣ J♣
K♠ 5♣
8♦ 6♠
When the board ran: 3♠ 7♦ K♥ Q♠ T♣, It was the K♠ 5♣ of Yuki Shimoksaka that prevailed in the 5-way showdown and eliminated the "Bubble Boy". The win also boosted Shimosaka's chips to 360,000.
With big thanks to the collective effort of Shimoasaka and friends, all 31 survivors (pun intended) are in the money with a chance to improve their rank in the payout ladder on the Day 2 final this October 29, 2024.
What A Fold!
TMT Championship 2024 Flight A Mini Main (NT$ 3M GTD) (Event #6)
The cut-off made the min-raise to 20,000 and got called by both blinds to see a flop of 2♣ 3♥ 5♦. Daniel Yang checked from the small blind. Yu Yung Lin fired 40,000 from the big blind. The cut-off folded and Yang completed to see a 4♥ on the turn. Yang check-called the 60,000 bet of Lin to see the 9♣ on the turn. Yang checked again. Lin pushed all-in, covering the chips of Yang. Yang folded his hand, showing the table 4♠ 4♦ and the set he surrendered just not to be THE bubble boy.

The Soft Bubble!
TMT Championship 2024 Flight A Mini Main (NT$ 3M GTD) (Event #6)
We are nearing the bubble at the TMT Championship 2024 Flight A Mini Main (NT$ 3M GTD). With 33 players remaining, only 31 are needed to make it to the payout party and advance to tomorrow's Day 2 final. But before you get to the bubble, there is the "soft bubble" - the one who busts before the bubble.
Yu Yung Lin min-raised to 20,000 from UTG +2 and was re-raised to 65,000 by Lim Soo Ghee at the button. Lin then pushed all-in and Ghee made the call to put all his 175,000 chips at risk. Yu Yung Lin's pocket jacks held all the way against the Big Slick of Ghee, eliminating him as the "soft bubble" at 33rd place.
Now, we really are at the bubble!

Shiina Okamoto Wins TMT Championship Single Day HighRoller With Quads!
TMT Championship 2024 Single Day HighRoller (Event #H2)
Heads-up battle paused for a bit for a much-need break. But just before the break, it was noted that Shiina Okamoto had 435,000 to the 415,000 of Tsai Tse Jui. Okamoto clawed her way back from a 4-to-1 disadvantage to take a slight lead.
On the first hand after the break, Okamoto applied some more pressure to push her stack to 660,000 with Tsai Tse Jui left with 190,000.
On the second hand after the break, Shiina Okamato made a 30,000 min-raise from the small blind and called the 190,000 all-in shove of Tsai Tse Jui.
The flop gave Okamoto a set, the turn improved her to a full-house to ensure the championship. Then the river improved her hand to quad sixes just to make sure the moment - and the hand - will be forever ingrained in her core memory and for all those who witnessed this piece of poker history.
Shiina Okamoto will be taking home the champion's top prize of NT$ 610,000 (~US$ 19,000) along with a special TMT Championship trophy.
Tsai Tse Jui will earn NT$ 366,100 (~US$ 11,400) for the runner-up finish.

Bubble Bursts at TMT Championship 2024 Single Day HighRoller
TMT Championship 2024 Single Day HighRoller (Event #H2)
The bubble has burst at the TMT Championship 2024 Single Day HighRoller.
17 entries made the buy-in of NT$ 80,000 (~US$ 2,500) to take part in the TMT Championship 2024 Single Day HighRoller event here at the Asia Poker Area in Taipei with only the top 3 players to receive a payout from the NT$ 1,220,300 (~US$ 38,000) prize pool.
The last 3 players have Shiina Okamoto to thank for knocking out the "Bubble Boy" who put all his 79,500 all-in from the button and got an excited snap call from Okamoto. "Bubble Boy" held A♦ T♥ while Okamato flipped over A♥ A♠ to show pure dominance. The board wasn't even finished and "Bubble Boy" was already packing and heading out the exits after seeing the flop, probably off to the nearest watering hole. Our SMP field reporter didn't even have enough time to catch a name.
In any case, "Bubble Boy" had good instincts to walk away. He was drawing dead on the flop of K♥ 8♣ 4♣ and the turn and river 9♦ 3♥ was just a formality.
The three remaining players are guaranteed ITM with the champion taking home the top cash prize of NT$ 610,000 (~US$ 19,000) along with a classy TMTC trophy.

Goh Jun Yi is Final Table Bubble Boy Of 6-Max NLH Shot Clock Freezeout
TMT Championship 2024 6-Max NLH Shot Clock Freezeout (Event #5)
Polun Chao made the 10,000 min-raise from under the gun and called the all-in re-raise by Goh Jun Yi at the button for 64,500.
Chao dominated from the start. After the flop, Yi's hand was reduced to a three-outer. When the board ran out Chao was given an ace-to-five straight for good measure to eliminate Goh Jun Yi as the final table bubble boy. The win boosted Polun Chao as the chip leader entering the final table.
Despite not making the final table, Goh Jun Yi still made ITM in 8th place with a payout of NT$ 12,200 (~US$ 380).

It's All Over!!! Chia Huang Crowned TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller Champion
TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller (Event #H1)
Chia Huang made a min-raise to 80,000 and was called by Zhi Wang to enter a flop of 5♦ 4♣ 3. Zhi Wang was first to act and made a 65,000 bet. Chia Huang riffed his chips and counted off 200,000 for a raise. Zhi Wang meditated his way into the astral planes, hoping for a better read to the situation. After much pondering and chip riffling, Wang made the call to see a 2♠ on the turn. Zhi Wang checked to Huang who applied the pressure by going all-in. Wang made the call for his last 390 chips and realized he was drawing dead against the straight of Huang.
This was the part on the MMA brawl where Zhi Wang was clinically being barraged with strikes by Chia Huang, waiting for the referee stoppage.
The 9♥ on the river was a late hammer fist to the face after the ref had already stopped the fight.
Chia Huang takes home the lion's share of NT$ 874,800 (~US$ 27,200) as the champion of the TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller and a very cool trophy.
Zhi Wang earns a commendable NT$ 500,000 (~US$ 15,500) for the runner-up finish.

Zhi Wang Battles Back
TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller (Event #H1)
After being awarded some blinds from a couple of pre-flop folds, Zhi Wang woke up to cards worthy enough to move all-in from the small blind for 250,000. Chia Huang made the call from the big blind.
Wang was ahead but the flop offered a scare, adding an open-ended straight to the outs of Huang. Eventually, the board bricked and Wang's king-high was the better hand to double up and take a small bite from Chia Huang's stack.
This is the part in the MMA brawl where Zhi Wang grappled to get back to his feet again, showing that he still had some fight left.

Chia Huang Makes A Critical First Strike
TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller (Event #H1)
Chia Huang completed from the small blind and Wang checked the big blind to enter a flop of 9♥ 9♣ Q♥. Both checked to a 9♦ turn and checked to a Q♣ river. With the board showing a full house, Huang sneaked in a 100,000 bet. Zhi Wang, of course, called to at least split the pot. But Huang flipped a queen to show the better full-house, leaving Wang with less than 5BBs.
If this was a MMA brawl, then Huang just threw a quick straight jab that knocked Wang to the mat, but Wang was still able to intelligently defend himself to prevent a referee stoppage despite seeing stars.

Huang vs Wang
TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller (Event #H1)
The TMT Championship 2024 High Roller is now down to its last 2 combatants, following the elimination of Chih Fang at third place. It's a heads-up showdown between Chia Huang and Zhi Wang. Chia Huang is a favorite with a near 5-to-1 advantage in chips over Zhi Wang. But then, of course, this is poker. Skill may take you to the final table, but it is the poker gods who will decide where luck falls. Insert smiley emoji here.

Chih Fang Finishes At 3rd
TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller (Event #H1)
Chih Fang pushed all-in for 605,000 chips from the dealer button and got a call from Chia Huang to defend the big blind. Huang paired a queen on the flop, leaving Fang in the hunt for two outs. The poker gods didn't offer any, but gave the consolation that Fang made a full-house as a final hand even though he lost to a better boat. Chih Fang was almost out of the tournament in the early levels of the final table, but managed to keep alive through the swings. However, Chih Fang's adventurous run came to an end at third place, where he is awarded a healthy payout of NT$ 306,000 (~US$ 9,500).

Chih Fang Doubles From Chia Huang
TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller (Event #H1)
Chia Huang continued to use the "monster stack all-in strategy" in the next hand from under the gun and was called by Chih Fang at the dealer button for his remaining 325,000. Huang was ahead pre-flop and even hit an ace on the flop to solidify the lead and drain the hope for Fang. Fang spiked an eight on the turn to give a lifeline of nine outs leading to the river. The poker gods were generous enough to give one of the outs for Fang to make a gut-shot straight and double-up. Huang's stack was shook a little, but still remained as the biggest stack on the table.

TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller (Event #H1)
Once again, Chia Huang applied the strategy of using the monster million stack to apply pressure on the small-stacked blinds by pushing all-in from the button. A desperate Kia Hsu made the call for the last of his 170,000 from the big blind.
Kai Hsu looked dominating pre-flop, but Huang paired a four on the flop and maintained the lead to bust Hsu at fourth place. Kai Hsu bagged 4th - NT$ 218,000 (~US$ 6,800) for the final four finish.

TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller (Event #H1)
Chia Huang leads the final four players at the TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller with 1,490,000 chips at the second break of the day. Chia Huang started the day's 9-handed final table among the bottom three, but has steadily moved up the ranks to the top. Hopefully, Huang can maintain the momentum leading up to the championship where a grand prize payout of NT$ 874,800 (~US$ 27,200) awaits.

Kai Hsu Doubles Up In Blinds Battle
TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller (Event #H1)
Action folded around the table to create an el clasico Battle of the Blinds. Both blinds were short-stacked and desperate. Small blind Chih Fang made the move with a shove for 335,000, hoping to pillage blinds with a fold from the big blind. However, the more short-stacked Kai Hsu did not back down and risked his remaining 220,000 chips.
Hsu was at a dominate advantage from the beginning, and when both Fang and Hsu hit the 7 on the river, the king kicker of Hsu ensured that the pot be shipped his way. Kai Hsu doubled up to have more breathing room while Chih Fang's stack was left in critical condition.
Fan Chi Wei Eliminated At Fifth
TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller (Event #H1)
The action was folded to the dealer button, where Chia Huang applied pressure on the blinds by shoving 1,000,000 chips all-in, covering the stacks of both blinds and putting their tournament life in peril if they were to call and lose. Fan Chi Wei decided to make the call from the small blind for and pushed the short-stacked 190,000 chips in the middle.
Wei was quite pleased to be ahead before the flop, but that all changed when Huang's seven paired on the flop and remained its course to take the win and eliminate Wei at 5th place. Fan Chih Wei pocketed NT$ 168,000 (~US$ 5,200) for the 5th place finish.

TMT Championship 2024 High Roller (Event #H1)
In a battle of the blinds, Chih Fang completed and Anton Lu checked his option for an amicable arrangement to see a flop of T♣ 8♠ 7♦. Fang led out from the small blind with 15,000 and was called by Lu on the big blind to see a Q♠ on the turn. Fang fired another barrel for 20,000 and Lu called again to see a 4♣ on the river. Fang slowed down with a check. Lu made a few chip riffs before declaring all-in for his remaining 110,000. Fang took a moment to study the board and peek at his cards before agreeing to the call.
Fang's pair of tens were spot on to take out Lu, who made a play on the pot with a busted open-ended straight draw. Australian Anton Lu exited at 6th place with a payout of NT$ 131,000 (~US$ 4,000).

Action Unfolds On TMT Championship 2024 Single Day HighRoller
TMT Championship 2024 Single Day HighRoller (Event #H2)
While the final table of the TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller (Event #H1) winds down to determine a champion, another high-roller event is rolled out (pun intended) by the TMT Championship 2024 here at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei City.
The Single Day HighRoller is currently filling up seats with already 7 players making the NT$ 80,000 (~US$ 2,500) buy-in and more expected while registration remains open. Players will begin with a starting stack of 50,000 chips to give enough wiggle room for the roller-coaster ride that is poker. The Single Day HighRoller - as the event name suggests - will wrap up by day's end and crown a champion. The previous high-roller event played to a final table that had to return for a second day.
Among the notable players that have taken their seats are WSOP bracelet winner Shiina Okamoto of Japan, who won the Ladies Championship event in the recent WSOP 2024 at Las Vegas. Hong Kong poker pro Hon Cheong Lee is also at the felt, fresh from his championship victory at the NT$ 60,000 NLH Last Chance High Roller at the APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 earlier this month. Also on the roster is Taiwanese poker pro Wu Chiayun, who already has over 80 cashes this year from playing in events all over Taiwan. Chiayu will be hoping that the home-court advantage will play to his favor.

Nearly on the brink of elimination, Chia Fang was able to recover. Then the blinds ate away at his stack. While on the button, Fang risked all 145,000 and was covered and called by Hyunsup Kim on the small blind.
Fang needed an ace or three club cards to make a flush. Hitting a 7 would be good, but not enough to overtake the pocket nines of Kim. The poker gods really favored Fang, putting an ace on the flop to lead all the way and double-up. Kim was left with a struggling stack on shaky legs.

Cards Are In The Air For 6-Max NLH Shot Clock Freezeout
TMT Championship 2024 6-Max NLH Shot Clock Freezeout (Event #5)
One of the fun side events on Day 3 of the TMT Championship 2024 here at the Asia Poker Area in Taipei is the 6-Max NLH Shot Clock Freezeout. The variation for this tournament is that there will be only six players to a table as opposed to the regular 9 or 8. The shot clock also ensures that the action is quick while the freezeout means that there are no re-buys allowed, so players will have to be focused as they will only have one life to live and can't re-enter the event once they've been eliminated.
So far 10 players have ponied up the NT$ 8,000 (~US$ 250) buy-in to get the event rolling. More players are expected to fill the tables before registration ends after level 6. Blind levels are 20 minutes long.

TMT Championship 2024 HighRoller (Event #H1)
Chia Huang min-rasied to 16,000 from UTG+1 and then called the 46,000 all-in shove by Hyunsup Kim for a showdown.
Huang was dominant when they flipped the cards, but a miracle 4 on the turn kept Kim's tournament life alive, doubling up through Huang.
